With Fellowship in Cancer Epidemiology from National Cancer Institute of the National Institute of Health in USA. A convenor for Establishment of Specialized Presbyterian Cancer Center in Ghana.

Experience

A regional trainer for MEASURE EVALUATION in monitoring and Evaluation for the Africa region since 2011. Provides technical and programmatic expertise in the implementation of Global Fund supported grants in HIV, TB and Malaria Programmes in Nigeria and Sierra Leone. The Program Director of The Ghana Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (GFELTP). The programme that implements FELTP frontline, intermediate and advanced training for Ghana and it serves as regional training hub for advanced field epidemiology residents from Guinea Bissau, The Gambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone. A co-lead in contact tracing and enhanced surveillance for COVID-19 response in Ghana and with support from MoH, GHS and partners established four Regional Public Health Emergency Operation Centers (PHEOCs). Designed, investigated, implemented and published the 2018 Outbreak Investigations of Viral Hemorrhagic Fever in Ghana and supported the recent Lassa Fever outbreaks.

Expertise

The Director for the Ghana African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), the immediate past Board Chair for AFENET and served on STOPTB Partnership Ghana and TEPHINET Advisory boards. An external examiner and moderator for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Namibia, University of Pretoria and University of Johannesburg South Africa.

Achievements

A recipient of Presidential citation in recognition for his outstanding contributions to the national and social development of the Republic of Korea through the international development cooperation in 2023.

Publications & Research

Involved in epidemiological research and the principal investigator on several grants from US CDC, KOICA, NIH, EDCTP and Africa CDC with over 160 publications in peer reviewed journals.
